As a child, I read World Book Encyclopedias and the Guinness Book of World Records. Yes, I actually sat and read volumes as a child. I still love reading factual information, especially when it piques my curious nature. My young mind couldn’t totally grasp all the content of these books, but it was enough to set me on a continuing quest for wisdom, odd facts, and spectacular human feats. I’m content to scour books, libraries, old newspapers and microfiche…and I’ve always been this way. For whatever reason, I tend to avoid “non-fiction” books because if it’s not something that actually happened, I don’t want to know about it.
Back in the 1970’s, Reader’s Digest published a book that I consider a classic to this day: Strange Stories, Amazing Facts. The subtitle of the book reads: “Stories That are Bizarre, Unusual, Odd, Astonishing, and Often Incredible”.
Being a rosarian is something I take pride in, and I love to dig into the notion whenever I can (no pun intended).
I honestly haven’t grown roses in years due to my location mobility, but I do check out municipal gardens whenever I can. I love the smell of roses, their growth cycle, their infinite colors…what’s not to love? You can grow them in a garden, in a pot, you can snip them off to enjoy at home. AND, once they’re “spent”, you can then dry them – everlasting joy!
So, if you’re like me, you are a rosarian – one who loves and enjoys roses. No need to ever have grown them to appreciate them. These 2 designs are for you!
Have you ever considered writing a book or short story?
There are a few other sites who allow you to self-publish, but since Amazon seems to have the corner market on it, I thought I’d post about it. Self-publishing is a real boon to the industry, and it seems like getting published is no longer a worry for most writers.
If you’re thinking about becoming a writer, fiction or non-fiction, consider Amazon for your needs. Many writers swear by them, and they do have the exposure to the marketplace that you need. I haven’t done it myself, but if I do, I’ll be sure to let everyone know.

I’m also trying to change careers – and for me, that’s led me to change focus a bit. I’m exploring photography more, so expect some more photos. I’m working on obtaining a DSLR camera to highlight what I believe is a burgeoning career in that field. However, that’s a longer-term project. In the short-term, I’m trying my hand, literally, at blogging to create an online portfolio to showcase my writing skills.
As of this writing, I don’t yet have 100 bloggers, and I see that many people I follow have thousands – I aspire to have that kind of audience! I’m learning from all of you every day.
Many of you are fellow Zazzlers, many are full-time bloggers, and many are WordPress supporters. You’ve been with me, clicking on and “liking” my posts, which is extremely helpful to me in so many ways. You are helping someone personally and professionally, and I sincerely appreciate it.
Again, thank you for your kindness in helping a fellow blogger out 🙂
My Zazzle store is here – zazzle.com/cousinbelles – but I know you’re not totally interested in all my store items. Hopefully you stay for the other musings, articles and photos I post; sometimes mine, sometimes others. I blog about things I think are mad, bad and dangerous to know…and fun, or course.
THANK YOU for subscribing, and if you’re not a subscriber, thank you all the same for reading!!
It is Friday and things have been a little too ambitious up in here. For instance, I hear the weather in the vortexy area of the United States is working overtime stacking two inches of fat stacks of white frozen angel water upon the grounds of Georgia. When even weather is trying to meet goals, it is time to slow down. It is almost February people! This is the time of the year when people are giving up on our resolutions! Get less motivated people! Start to quit! In case you needed some help, here are some demotivational gifs to get you back to slacking this week:
