Twerking 86-year-old grandma ‘Baddie Winkle’ is an internet star – Your Community

Twerking 86-year-old grandma ‘Baddie Winkle’ is an internet star

“According to her bio, this preternaturally hip octogenarian has been “stealing your man since 1928,” but in recent weeks she’s been stealing nothing but hearts around the web with her sassy status updates and trill sense of style.”

REMEMBER: Obama said “Allah willing”!!

“Obama had frequently replied with Insy Allah (Malay for “Allah willing”) and terima kasih (“thank you”) during the tour.”

Looking for First Nations love: Indigenous dating life ‘complex’ – Aboriginal – CBC

Looking for First Nations love: Indigenous dating life ‘complex’ – Aboriginal – CBC

I find a lot of this heart-rending. Dating for Native Americans/First Nations (Canada) can lead to much thought for future generations – it’s more than just falling in love. It’s thought to bring more indigenous ‘blood’ back to your bloodline. Back in the day, many tribes relied on neighboring tribes for spouses (if you could call them that), and geographically near peoples would be your dating and marriage pool. Is the world more open today because we have the internet in which to find potential spouses?

I think a lot of people find long-distance relationships by going to Pow Wows and meeting people there. What if you’re like me, and work most weekends and can’t go to Pow Wows? I’m a Native woman who’s technically “too old” to have kiddos, but I’d love to find a Native man…however the dating sites are few and far between. I think many Native people are shy and don’t want their business and photos on the internet, and they don’t want to be contacted by peoples of other races that are fascinated with them – it leads to stalkers. Native American women are stalked more than any other race in America: it’s a dangerous world out there.

If I knew how to screen members by ID, I’d create my own Native dating website for people like me…*sigh*

Delta makes totally tubular 1980s-themed safety video – TODAY.com

Delta makes totally tubular 1980s-themed safety video – TODAY.com.

From Delta’s YouTube channel:

As a tribute to Delta’s first safety video premiering in the 80’s, our latest version is 80’s themed to continue our emphasis on safety in an engaging way.
The safety video was filmed over 20 hours on a Delta 777 in Detroit. More than 100 people including 20 actors, 80 extras, six flight attendants and a pilot are featured in the video dressed in 80’s fashions including authentic Delta flight attendant uniforms, leg warmers, hair scrunchies and neon colors. There are also cameos from some of our favorite 80’s stars including basketball player Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who had a cameo in the movie “Airplane”, as a Delta first officer. We also have our favorite ’80s alien, Alf, and even an original member of Devo, Gerald Casale, safely storing the popular energy dome.

We introduced safety videos designed to be constantly updated with fresh scenes to reward even the most frequent of frequent flyers for paying attention. Watch the full video here and be sure to let us know what you think!
